there used to be a bridge across the railway from the end of flemington st to barnhill station and you had to walk through the middle of the plant....i did it many a time as a bairn when i stay in barmulloch and my dentist was in hyde park school

Thanks Pingu that was it and I remember walking through the middle of the plant too to get to the offices where they were holding the interview and the manager or whatever had an antiquated office with leather buttoned chairs and a huge gold leafed framed picture of a stag behind him mind you this could be my imagination again as I had remembered the whole experience as a "trouble 't mill" factory with large wooden gates, outbuildings and cobbled walkways :wink:
