They are planning to destroy the nests and eggs, a lot more humane than some other culls I can think of

rat traps, with a nice slice of kebab, stand back, allow to tease and bingo,if it didn't kill it at least it would hold it's beak closed and save our ears from the annoying squawking they do.

Any good (legal) ideas as to how to get rid of them?

Best way to get rid of them is to stop people "feeding" birds by dumping mounds of bread/rice in parks, crack down on people who think its ok to chuck their half eaten kebab/pizza/chips on the street at the end of the night and get the council to pick up the some of the rubbish that they seem to think is ok to leave lying around.

For a more immediate effect, given that they are vermin I would think poisoning, trapping or shooting are all legal, if not quite as much fun as some of the other suggestions.

I'm going to dress up as Wile E. Coyote and use a giant Acme vacuum cleaner to hoover them out of the sky.

(It's quiet on the ward this morning...)

Yeah, I'm popping out to ASDA this morning for a spare Eagle, a replacement Buzzard and a half a pound of Sparrowhawk.

At Frankie boy's age, shrunken treasure might be the order of the day.
