Can anyone remember the name of the pub previous to 54 Below on the corner of Kelvingrove Street and Argyle Street.

I'm not sure that's correct. As I recall the Exhibition Bar was at Argyle Street and Berkeley Street (where Neighbourhood is now)

No that's wrong too.

The linked article has factual inaccuracies. The photograph is correct.

On reflection you're right. The two door set up is the key plus that does look like Kelvingrove street at tghe edge.

The windows above the pub don't match.

Assuming the photographer was standing on Argyle Street.

You can see the pub in the background during scenes shot outside the taxi cab offices in the 1987 episode of Taggart entitled Cold Blood. Not seen it for a while so I have no idea what the pub was called.

Let's not get all Cathcart Road about this; they most certainly do.

Still can't remember what it was called immediately prior to -54˚. I don't recall it being called Maxwell's ever.
It looked like the Driftwood picture until it was concerted into a 'style' bar circa 2002. It may have been called something else after refurbishment but prior to -54˚

Yeah, the problem is remembering the name between Maxwell's and 54 Below. I lived very near from 1996 to 2001 and am amazed I can't recall the name...

The picture of the Exhibition Bar has a double window above it and the pictures of 54 below and Driftwood don't.

Assuming the pictures have all been taken from Argyle St.
