Anyone else frequent the Ceylon Tea Centre in Buchanan Street above where the 'White Shop' is now, in the mid/ late 70's?

Fine teas and good food.
Sometimes, from lateish 60`s until about 72, especially on saturdays. Also went to coffee house just up from there ? Kardoma or some such.
Why do you want to know ?

The Dick Institute probably stole them all in retaliation.

What's the Herbal Tea Book Group 'book of the month', then?

For our first book it will be either 'Cocaine Nights' 'A Scanner Darkly' 'American Psycho.' Something like that and it will be once every two weeks.

What a let-down. I was looking forward to the likes of 'Herbal Tea Gardens: 22 Plans for Your Enjoyment & Well-Being by Marietta Marshall Marcin'. If only for the mellifluous author's name.

Josef... I am shocked. I thought you would have loved the chance to discuss PKD.

Hi Shug

Had a look at the reading list on the Herbal Tea website & noticed you had Lolita listed. When will you be reading it?

The Ceylon Tea Centre.

First visit, hated it.
Second visit, got the hang of it.
Third visit, hooked.
Usually was the first stop when up there on leave.

Tried to obtain recipe for the white sauce one poured lavishly over salad selections.
Found a fellow who did the pastries in the kitchen but he couldn't remember how they made it.

Remember queueing down the stairs, out the door, up the street and around the corner one time and
it was worth it. Had to be there before the lunchtime rush to get a seat.

Pity they closed.

Maybe if you try a different spelling?

Faeries Blood Tea.
Not sure if this is helpful but may be worth a shot.
