Hmm it seems the RAFA club is to close in Feb 2008

http://glasgowmontrose.wordpress.com/2007/09/15/stop-press-change-of-club-premises/

that's my old chess club, and they have had to move premises, because of this, as we played at the RAFA on Thursdays.

I also went to many of the excellent Northern Soul nights there, in the ballroom downstairs with the RAF insignia above me as I tried to shark like a de Havilland Mosquito. There was also a mega Sounds of Sweden regular night there before the Knife and Jose G etc were well known which was cool.

Does anyone know more about the RAFA closing - why and if it will move somewhere else? I imagine it's cos the membership was in terminal decline :(
