New Western Theme Pub Open Soon!

Postby Bex Bissell » Wed Oct 12, 2005 2:07 pm

Yet another bloody theme/pub chain.
If your into the Grand Ol Oprey dont go wettn yer pants, it looks more like Bonkers than a mid west saloon.

http://www.buffalojoes.co.uk/new/glasgow-home.html

This is the infamous pub in Newcastle where a Daily Record Snapper ran into Celtics Neil Lennon et al.

I'm going to start a pub chain called "Weegies" they'll be authentic wee Gleasga Pubs and it's moto is "drink like yer da n granda did ya wee poof".
The decor will be a mixture of cream wall tiles and avacado paint, bare 200 watt bulbs hanging from the ceiling and the furniture will be made up of square formica tables with old school chairs to sit on.
You can smoke if you want too even at the bar however the fairer sex will need to nip out to the next pub with a ladies WC.
I'll help role this out with a chain of Bookies who will have a shop right next door, I'll hae slips and pencils in and around the bar to save poppin out in rain.
Coming to a high street, station & airport near you soon... well once I talk the bank manager round.

I saw the recruitment advert for this place in the Metro yesterday. It specified that potential staff "must be willing to wear swimwear"

Not something one would normally associate with the Wild West 8O

I for one, will never set foot in the place.

I worked in the building for 5 years until the day it was closed. It would be heartbreaking to see all my work ripped out and gone.

And the fact that they got a licence for such a bar is a disgrace... there was no problem with Privilege... little fighting, little provable drugs. It was all glasgow licence board politics which I wont type on an open internet forum.

Well, out of curiosity this establishment had to be reviewed and I wasnt surpised by what was on offer.
If you ever happen to go in to find out for yourself listen out for their rendition of "Cotton Eye Joe" with the words "I would have been home a long time ago if I hadnt gone to Buffalo Joes".
Imagine if you will the coming together of The Grand Ol Oprey and Diamond Dolls a heady combination indeed.

I saw that story, it claims she had a few shots on the bronco and stayed in the pub drinking after she injured herself.

Draw your own conclusions
