Further, what's the end purpose?

Meeting some work mates, impressing a girl, meeting someone new etc etc

?

Can recommend the Rogano and the Corinthian. Both pretty handy for George Square.
There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is generally adopted.

DiMaggio's do the best food ever in Royal Exchange Square. Minsky's buffet /carvery at the Hilton is nice too.

Fraid I don't know any *really really nice* places as I generally can't afford them!

The Inn on the Green is very nice... suits a romatic occassion (I think we are all assuming girl, although equally you could be talking about your mum). Not entirely city centre though.

The thai fountain is always a nice choice (not toooo expensive either) ... oh and I havent been in the one on Mitchell Street, but if its as good as the one in Carmunock, Mitchells would be an excellent choice.

I have never eaten in the Rogano, but Cumbo is the chef in there and says its excellent... and assures me its not as expensive as you might think.

it always looks STUNNING in photos... must go sometime...

But it's seafood, and only people in prison eat seafood, coz it's mingin'.
Rogano is the seafod place, int it... Gads!
I was at Dimaggio's the other day and someone got plastic in there food. But not completely ruled out.

I think a conversation lastnight recommended 78 St Vincent St it looks gorgeous and I am partial to the old vino, and these guys look like the got some good ones... (but it's fairly heavily booked), and Radisons...

Man all this seemed easier lastnight when I was blootered.

What about the Millennium Hotel just across from George Square? Never been in it, but from the prices of the rooms I'm assuming it's good quality!

78 St Vincent Street is pretty nice... although I think it lacks a little atmosphere...

I'll second that. Expensive but good value and an enjoyable dining experience.

The food was a very nice. Oddly I went deaf completely in one ear and partially in the other for around 2 hours in there ... perhaps thats why I felt it lacking in atmposphere. they do the christmasy thing quite well though.
