McDonalds-alike Union St Early 1980s
Posted: Sat Feb 17, 2018 11:41 amCan anyone help me with the name of a sort of copy McDonalds which was on Union St maybe one or two shops up from HMV and on that side around '81 - '82. The rumor at the time was that McDonalds wanted to open in the city but had their applications turned down on the basis that there would be too much litter and yet this burger joint was almost a carbon copy. It was very popular with teenagers like me who nearly lived in the HMV shop on Saturdays.
