No mention of the Shish Mahal? When it was in Gibson Street it got the UK's first AA award to a curry place. Still a crackin place, but for me it's big rival is Mother Indias Cafe, we started going just after it opened a couple of years ago. The tapas way they do things is brill.
Had a chicken korma out of the place next to
Anniesland station last night. Think the place
is called Nibbles.
Well the taste was 10 out of 10, but
never had a korma of that strength before.
Let's just say it could stafe off hypothermia in
snowbound mountain regions of Kashmir.
Be warned, nice Korma, but way spicey

My personal fave in the town was always Creme de La Creme (RIP)
I'm kinda outa the loop now with Glasgow Indian eateries, as I tend to eat out towards Hamilton way.
On that note:
The Manzil Tandoori (Okay, Cafe Manzil...) - Hamiltons finest. Tam Cowan can't be wrong. Top notch grub with portions that could choke a donkey!
Pir Mahal - Used to be great, but the price went up and the portions went down when they done it up a few years ago......
Taj Mahal - Cheap and cheerful with nae airs or graces about the place. Grub okay too.
Bombay Cottage - Food is lovely, but over priced
Blue Rupee - Good food, fair prices. But the bright yellow and blue interior is a bit like a bad trip on the eye.....
Spice - Just opened up on Bothwell Road in Hamilton. I'm hearing loads of good reports about the place. They've blagged the Chef from the Manzil and a few of the waiting staff too. I'll keep y'all posted!!!
And with that, i'm off to grab a menu and dial out for grub. I'm slevverin' like a poachers dug here!!!
Went to the Ashoka Ashton Lane last week. For a number of reasons, we decided to eat early and were in there by 5.30pm.
Well the food was fabulous ... best I have ever had in there. Our hypothesis is that, going in early when its very quiet, the chefs have time to do the job properly as opposed to later in the evening when the place is hopping and the kitchen is probably going crazy.
Ashoka Ashton Lane gets my vote, though the Bombay Blues is pretty good as well, especially the buffet.
