Leo's Bistro on Fenwick Road (edge of Newlands/Start of Giffnock) is pretty good. Quite nice in side, and normally decent clientele, etc.
Or, for something during the day - Biscuit Cafe in Shawlands.

1901 (the old Swan Inn) is a favourite of mine, they do a pasta and glass of wine combo for about £5 at lunch. Their 3 courser is always a good bet too its a good enough size but quiet. Spaghettis is a good one, usually quiet which I dont understand and again good nosh.

Leo's is good, but I didnt like them talking about other customers in front of customers!

I've got a wordpress of places that ive been to and a wee moan about them http://www.foodanddrinkglasgow.wordpress.com Theres a geographical map somewhere that I need to update.

any particular type of food/price guide? I could help narrow it down further (if i can!)

Tinto Tapas Bar on Battlefield Road is good. On some midweek nights, they do a taster menu of 3 tapas dishes for £7.50. The individual dishes are usually £3-3.50 each.
