Cathedral House Hotel

Postby Fat Cat » Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:08 pm

Went in for lunch last week after it had been refurbished. Couldn't really see much difference in the decor but it did look much cleaner. The menu has a lot to offer and I had the macaroni cheese which was just great. Came with salad and garlic bread.

Service was great, friendly and quick.

I'd highly recommend it.

Seemed very popular with the Orange Lodgers who finished their march there last Sunday. I was trapped in the car on JOhn Knox St. for about 20 minutes as they all downed tools and made a beeline for the refreshments.... 8)

What I said in my original post - forget it. Went in at 12 noon today, got served more or less straight away, but waited until 12.45 and still no food. Went down to the "friendly" waiting staff to tell them I couldn't wait any longer and no apology, no acknowledgement of the fact we waited ages. And, to add insult to injury, they served 2 tables of people that had come in after us! Typical Scottish service.

So, if you want quick efficient friendly service, don't go the Cathedral House! :x

Could be worse, if you were in Romania you'd probably still be waiting to be served...

Used to go there when the Vampire Society frequented it - where are they now?

Laurie's bar.

Did the Glasgow Garlic Association chase them off?

They were struck off for failing to attend a stakeholder's meeting.
