Hello all, been a while since I last posted but I haven't stopped lurking in the wings. I'm getting married in about 18months time and my lovely future wife and I are trying to find a venue for a reception and probably one where we may very well hold our ceremony also. Looking ideally for a location in the southside or thereabouts. We've currently got info for Rutherglen Town Hall and Hampden Stadium. Headcount wise we're talking approx. 150 but certainly no more than 200 if it came to it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good location?
BTW I did search first

We got married in Eastwood House and had our reception there. It was ideal as we had the ceremony and then the guests were able to move upstairs for the reception.
Lovely grounds for photographs too.

We had our Civil Partnership ceremony at Park Circus, wedding breakfast at the Chip, and an evening reception at Oran Mor. The Chip and Oran Mor were brilliant, we were looked after very well, and once it was booked didn't have to worry about anything.

Sticking to your southside request; is the Couper Institute open again? It would be worth considering.
238 to 127. All in all a good afternoon's work

Many thanks for your replies and suggestions folks - very much appreciated. People's Palace would have been fantastic but was just a bit too pricey but we're due to go and have a look at the Burgh Hall in Pollockshileds. I'll pass the other suggestions onto the future Mrs. McD.
Many thanks again!!!
