Pleased to discover yesterday that Oscar Slater's on St. George's Road has reverted to its original name of the Carnarvon Bar. It's been given an outside paint job as well. But whether this will bring back its former customers, many of whom seem to have deserted it, remains to be seen.

The Vale Bar in Dundas Street opposite Queen Street Station, is home for me rough and ready friendly, great pint of Guiness. With a truly brilliant tiny wee venue upstairs, that has an amazing variety of bands and acoustic nights.
