Join us on a day out in and around Kilwinning.
Meet at 10:10 under the clock at Central Station to catch the 10:30 Ayr train, arrive at Kilwinning at 10:54. Day return tickets are £8.70.

Depending on numbers we will take a taxi or two or a bus a couple of miles up the road to the Dalgarven Mill museum ( it's a busy road with a narrow pavement and not nice for walking ), entry is £4.50. Bus return ticket is £ 3.40.

Back in town we'll have a wee toddle around and visit the Abbey, or what's left of it. Volunteers do tours up the tower on summer weekends between 1 and 3 pm until mid September.

Afternoon snacks on the go:
There's a Kandy Bar outlet if anyone remembers the award winning pie shop in West Kilbride, a Coop, Tesco, Greggs etc on the Main Street pedestrian zone. Refreshments of the liquid kind at the Lemon Tree .

If the weather permits, there's the option of walking to the Eglinton Park with its castle ruins.
It takes approx 40 minutes but it's well worth it.
It's nice to sit down on the grass next to the former fire place. Parts of the walk are along the main road, parts in the park and along the river.

Fingers crossed for a dry day!

Hope to see you there!
