I'll get around to arranging all this stuff eventually, I promise! I've just been busy with unemployment!

Le durachd,

Eddy

I did just that and sent a suggestion to Channel 4 to feature "ordinary" people and their stories. They replied that it was a good idea ... blah blah.
Just because eg Barbara Windsor had a relative who hailed from Ireland doth not a story make, much more incredible stories from Joe/Jean Blog I'm sure.

I'm sure the BBC did do a series like this, but I can't remember what it was called. There was a black guy who discovered his ancestors were miners in Wales, and a woman who found that her great-grandfather was a ship-building tycoon in Russia. It may have been an Open University thing, cos it was tucked away on BBC 2 in some graveyard slot I think.

This thread is amazing.

Agreed - what a great thread.

By making good use of the archives at The Mitchell Library and obtaining Sasines , I've managed to find out quite a bit about the family who built and lived in our house as well as the subsequent owners . I love the connection you feel with the past when you delve into a house's history.

I would love to share the history of my house with the HG community - what is the best way to do this? Start a new thread?

Cheers,

BB

Oh how great it would be, a year and a half down the line to hear what the latest on this quite unbelievable thread is.

Surely you've got something new to add by now.

It just came to an abrupt halt all those months ago!

Any updates???

Fine, thanks.

Really, no new information to add. I definitely WILL get to it, but right now I'm totally focussed on my writing. Once I'm earning, I'll have time for pet projects like this.

If anyone else wants to pick up the baton in the meantime, feel free!
