And thanks for looking at the site without noticing I was pushing punters to take a trip to the Lighthouse to see the exhibion and then answer the question above. Here's a wee for your collection.

Sorry to say it's not the photographers or even the people who paint or build fires that will detroy this. The rules of biological succession and the presence of hardwood tree saplings at the walls give this building, at best 5 - 10 years.

So at least us clowns, with our big feet, won't cause needless damage and can document this natural process.

The Lighthouse exhibition is worth a look to see 'Space and Light Revisited' and to see NVA's plans. I went to a talk they did last year, and from what I recall they didn't 'own' St. Peter's , but the Catholic Church had agreed in principle to sell it to them subject to the raising of funds for their proposals.

The proposals look exciting, but I can't help thinking they need to start moving on them - every time I see that this thread has been updated, I think it's going to be someone saying that St. Peter's is finally gone.

Me and my friend visited St Peter's today took some photos, explored and we thought it was impressive even in the state it is, its still easy to get into it. weather wasn't the best today but we stuck it out :)

well we aren't really sure yet since we are sotra starting out xD but we have been to here and Botanic Gardens subway so far, we hope to explore many other places!!!

A superb piece of work, this.

Visited again yesterday. Something we've known for years is confirmed by two new signs -



But the dangerous building was nice and secure as usual with the gate wide open to the world...




Lots of fire damage since I was last there. There's been lots of individual fires, seemed obvious to be that people are trying to destroy the place to add weight to the argument to pull it down. Lots of holes in the floor now, the top floor is virtually inaccessible now.





Watch your footing...

I'm not sure it's all that much worse than the last time we visited last summer. But it's clearly doomed.

The asbestos thing is new. Is it true?

It's more than likely given the age of the building and who built it. Serves you right.

Ach we're fine, J; I read somewhere that chain smoking neutralises its effects.

If only they had made the place entirely out of asbestos based products, it wouldn't be in the state its in today

If they had, then we might have been spared some of the excesses of the organisation that built it.

I for one hope the demise of this building continues unabated.
