Article in today's Scotsman about NVA's plans for the site.

HG trip to exhibition at Lighthouse? Week of 10th September, any time for me.

Side chapels, so they were, for the use of the trainees.

The exhibition sounds rather interesting, Monument.

More from the same day, the wreck being as impressive as ever:

Image

I'd somehow not seen this before - the much-reduced Kilmahew House, or its front porch at least:
Image

Still working, in the sense of still dripping water, part of a contemplative pool that used to be:

Inside, well it's a wreck:

Two years since I last saw it, and it actually is in a noticeably worse condition. The holes in the thin concrete vaulting weren't so numerous or large, and the dodgy leaning balustrade seems fit to let go before much longer:
Image

It's still beautiful (sort of) and definitely dramatic, but it's in a hell of a bad way.

I hate to say it, but it may be a case of go and see it while it's still there.

So, now that NVA own it, is it not possible to visit it anymore?

Own?

Either way, I can scarcely imagine an organisation less likely to restrict public access than NVA.

It was perfectly accessible last weekend.

Sorry if this has been posted before, not got time to trawl through whole thread.

Footage from Space and Light combined with recent footage of derelict St Peter's.

I bought the book "to have and to hold - future of a contested landscape" published by NVA and in it Angus Farquhar says "we've bought the site and buildings; our offer was accepted".

I'm not sure I really get their arty plans tbh!

As long as it involves an electrified fence and guard dogs to keep out clowns who add more damage to the site with every visit I'll be happy with any of their plans.

With the Slow Food movement in mind, I'm going to hand in my notice at work and set myself up as a slow demolition company, destroying buildings very slowly by occasionally taking photographs of them.

I've seldom seen a more 'hostage to fortune' comment.

Every photograph taken encourages another clown to take a photograph. Just like these clowns have followed others.

That was your point? Seriously? Like democracy is shite because someone voted BNP?

Anyone who walks through that site is damaging it. Anybody who hasn't been should be asking themselves why they would want to go there. What makes your case so special that you need to go and add to all the photographs which have been taken so far.

And thanks for looking at the site without noticing I was pushing punters to take a trip to the Lighthouse to see the exhibion and then answer the question above. Here's a wee Image for your collection.

Comment unneccessary.

The 'swoosh' was worth a try. Utterly irrelevant in this case, but worth a try nonetheless.
