Hi Kirsty

Glad you enjoyed yuor visit to St peters.

A lot of folk here at Hg have visited at various times over the years. If you look through the thread, you can see a history of it deteriation.

You should post some of your pictures so we can get a wee look at them.

Great pictures there :)

I took another trip out there last weekend and found the metal door sealing the crypt area had been ripped off. Ventured in with headtorch and got a few photos, I'll post a couple. It was absolutely freezing inside and pitch black, really creepy! After a couple of hours wandering around I hear some strange noises and departed very quickly ::):

I'll post some more pictures from inside the crypt when I've uploaded them.

We saw a few open hatches, but had never been there before and didn't know where everything was. Good to see another bit that we missed.

Great to see inside the crypt - the metal sheet was slightly prised open when i was there but I was too scared to go in incase anyone was squatting in there (there was a sleeping bag outside it!). What were the noises? Animals? People? Machines?

I see no point in keeping this wreck of a building as it is now beyond salvage and could never be restored.

It seems to have been a real white elephant right from the beginning. What's the point in revering architecture which isn't functional?
