There used to be a picture of M&A Browns in Sauchiehall St doing the rounds - can't find it however it was in b&w so it didn't really show the strawberry tarts, stacked artfully, to their advantage. :D

What about the Kelvin Bakers ( in Possil) with the trays of apple tarts,rhubarb tarts that looked like pork pies with a hole in the middle and the rhubarb peeping out - do they still do them?

Grtz,

Did you notice the latest Scotch Pie Bakery awards ?

There are proper no entries for Glesga !

Seemingly a city of 660.000 odds and not a decent pie to be found.

The only Glasgow entries were Pars (McGhees?) for their football club pies.
The other's listed as Glasgow , are hardly Glasgow;
one's Muirhead & the other's beyond Carbeth.

Zero Availability - Just about sums up the usual offer hereabouts though.

True there are at least three chi-chi eye-watering bakery shops around town now, good for cakes - but meat-pies are not their forte.

Maybe the Texans at WFM have some odd cook-chill stuff too, but not it's really main street available - unlike the proper Bakeries in the towns featured in this competition.

Then again, sad to see that Betty's Pie Shop Westmuir Street didn't receive an award in its own special category.

Looks like mail order pies from furth of the city it's going to be ?

Best to all for 2016,
MungoDundas
