The station building (or most of it at least) was there until fairly recently.

I'm pretty sure, if my memory isnt as flawed as I imagine, the station building was an office at one point. I can remember being on a train crawling out of Partick and seeing people behind desks in an office enviornment

In 1977 the Glasgow Underground system was closed so that it could be fully modernised. Merkland Street station was demolished and its replacement was renamed Partick station. Not everything was removed by Glasgow Museums - they left this two part cast iron sign.
Snapped with my work camera unfortunately. I will try to get a better snap of both sections if I can.

I'm sure it was actually used as a taxi cab office in the late '80's early '90's which would be after the auction judging by the signage of the auction house.
