No problem, glad your mum liked the pics. As i said the Virtual mitchell is an absolute treasure trove, i could spend hours going through all the streets listed. Yep, Bannisters is a Skypark haunt ok, been across for lunch a few times and i believe in my place there have been many leaving nights there.

There was a baths and Steamie near were i grew up in Govan, my mum used the steamie for washing until the late eighties, must have been loads of them in Glasgow.

Do you remember roughly when they built that carpark? Certainly the skypark bit has been there for years, but i was wondering if the baths were still there after the main building was built.

The car park is only about 5 or 6 years old mate, but the sky park has been there for as long as I can remember, but I'm only 26 (I'll ask my mum). I would imagine that the baths came down at the same time as the rest of the buildings on its right, down to where the expressway is now, to make way for the sky park and expressway. If memory serves, this was between 1968 and 1970ish, but I'll do some digging in the meen time.

Cheers Yoker, i think its the same width, but a combination of me getting the angle slightly out(thanks to a car parked out of shot) and those metal bollards which have been put up on either side give the illusion of it being narrower now.

Your right, the bollards do give it the impression it is narrow. It's not often a present day comparison shot is nicer than the old shot.
