Fossil I have just picked up on your reproduction of the tram in Dukes Road Burnside (which as you may know was the terminus... just forward a bit from the shown location). Really good stuff, especially, as others have said, right down to getting the trains running on time. I'm doing some local enquiries about this location in the hope of uncovering photographs of the WW2 brick public bomb shelters built on this road.

Thanks The_Clincher brings back memories of my first car in 1993 a wee Mini Mayfair done up custom fashion. Recaro Bucket seats, Alley Cats all round with wheel spacers and a bean can exhaust finished in metalic green. Tres' Chic! 8)
I'll put up a pic of her/it. :?: :D

Love the Mini PGCC93! My mate has one, he let me drive it once... but I found it a bit hard at 6'2 to actually get in and out of the thing, i asked him how to put the seat back (all innocently too) and he told me that it was back as far as it went.. :)... felt like it was nailed to the road tho!

Do you mean, why did they pull the original building down, or why did they
cover it in that stupid cladding?

I dunno, and I dunno. :D

Nice reminder of the er, gentleman's cinema, PG, but wasn't it called the Classic Gland? There was also an er, "gentleman's gentleman" cinema in Renfield Street, opposite Drury Street.
I saw "2001: A Space Odessy" by Stanley Kubrick in the first one, and "Scorpio Rising" (or similar) by Kenneth Anger in the second. My abiding memory of the Renfield Street place was just how *sticky* the carpet was. :?
Gordon I'm sure will know the name (and indeed history) of these palaces of delights.

It's the former Argyle Motor/Torpedo/Morris Cars Factory outside Glasgow.

What it does not mention though is that there IS still a bit of the building left!!

The St James Business Center across from the Phoenix Cinema was the main offices / entrances to the old Chrysler / Hillman building.

Now it just looks run down and nasty - with only half the units actually taken up.
