You don't need a lamp to find keech; it's easier done by smell.

Best of order here guys. Keep it positive; well negatives balanced by positive recommendations.

Been there, done it and earned the T shirt. For many years, until I developed a heart condition, my nickname on the outdoors scene was Duracell - now I have to settle for being known as Ever Ready

"Not quite Rock'n'Roll", as the song goes, but he's an honorary Weegie and, as a bonus, this ones still alive unlike aw your dead'uns.

May i suggest:

Alex Harvey and his Soul Band - listen to 'The Sunday Song' - absolutely top class!

http://www.glasgowmods.co.uk/2008/11/09 ... the-1960s/

Scots of St James - recognise anything in the riff? The Scots invented 2-Tone!

Blues Council

http://www.glasgowmods.co.uk/2008/06/16/blues-council/

The Luvvers It's Lulu's backing band...

Gaylords anyone?

Here's a new post from the Glasgow Mods Website on the great Scottish Beat Groups of the 60's (including The Gaylords themselves - listen to 'He's A Good Face' fantastic song!)

Not a Glasgow band, but containing at least 2 Glaswegians - wasn't AC/DC's "If you want blood" recorded at the Apollo?

Bon Scott can be heard asking if there's any virgins in Glasgow, during "The Jack".

Can also confirm (post a few pages back) that Nirvana did play the QMU, though think it was as a support to Mudhoney, sometime in 1990-91.

Yes, although I think there was quite a bit of tinkering with the recording. There's a great piece of video on youtube of bon scott and angus at the apollo in scotland '78 tops ("fling thing">"rocker" iirc)

Indeed they did, think it was 1990 if memory serves. They were the headline act and the show sold out. I'm pretty sure muhoney were not on the bill.

Was living in ediboro at the time (and well into my subpop) so didn't make the show but quite a few friends did.
