Anyone remember a TV advert where it cut between vendors in Glasgow shouting "Evenin Tyyymmes" to vendors in Edinburgh shouting "eeeev'in News..."?

I think it was for Scotrail?

Sure do. I remember it well.

Im sure there was a series of these adverts. Another one was two posh women; one would say "Kelvinside" and the
other would say "Morningside". This would go on for about 30 secs while they both got angrier.

back in 1986 we were decanted to another scheme as our house was being renovated by the council and a pal of mines dad used to sell the dundee evening telegraph and came round the scheme at the same time every night he shouted tellll but from the distance it sounded like help

I like that word "decanted" moved like a fine wine
Ma mother was decanted once too.

My favourite was the guy who was outside Marks and Spencers in Argyle Street for years, who would shout 'Evening' in a slow, deep voice, then bark the word 'TIMES!' over and over again. I remember walking past one day when he must have had a cold, or a sore throat, and he kept going all high-pitched on the word 'times',

I seem to remember reading (probably in the Times) that his name was Vince Ferguson.
