I think Greg was a tougher master than Stalin. Mind you the staff were the last to know he'd sold it.

So true, that time we were in for an HG drinks night you had to give the bar staff a fortnights notice when you were getting a round in!!

Has anyone ever heard of "Aitkens" brewery?
There used to be a pub behind Alexandra Parade, by the Monkland Canal called "The Monkland Vaults" (I'm pretty sure of the name) it had a sign hanging outside which was a depiction of a tiger and it's stripes spelled the word "Aitken".
I assume it was a Glasgow brewery, never got the chance to taste their beer though.

The future of Tennent's is up for grabs once again, as it emerged that its American and Belgian parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, was considering selling the brand to help pay for the £32bn merger sealed last November.

If "The water, rich with sulphate and carbonate of lime, is perfect for brewing" then why is Tennents so awful?

Because Tennants use wheat, and all beers/lagers with wheat in them taste shite.
