I'm sure there was a water tower at Priesthill/Darnley 2-3 years ago, but it was demolished while they were redeveloping the area. Can anyone else remember or was I just imagining it?? :? There's a large one out near Carnwath or in that general direction. You can see it in the distance when travelling on the Glasgow- Whifflet train if you look south between Bargeddie-Ballieston.

Aye there was a tower in Priesthill, I used to live up the road from Darnley (Wee Darnley) and you could see it clearly though it's gone now. The only other one I clearly remember is the one you see on the M8 going out Easterhouse direction but i'm not sure if that one is still there. Also I think there was a scene in an episode of Taggart or similar type program under one of the towers. There was a program (shown in the mid 90's I think) that gave you a history of the towers - can't remember much about it though, sorry.

There is one in Auchinairn, just behind the Nairn Bar on Woodhill Road at Auchinairn Road. It's just on the old Lanarkshire/Glasgow boundary, so whether it actually served Glasgow or Bishopbriggs I do not know.

There's one in Bishopbriggs at the end of Wester Cleddens Road, just where it juntions with Kirkintilloch Road (actually, it's a dead end).

Just noticed another one while taking the scenic route to Edinburgh via the suburban line.

It was on the left hand side on the way to Edinburgh, round about Shotts IIRC. Sorry I can't be more specific :?

There is a water tower behind Cleddans Primary School in Drumchapel, I think it's still there.

I am sure there are two in the Ruchazie/queenslie area of Glasgow,
Can someone compile a list of known towers then I will know where not to look.
