The virtual restoration project of St. Peter's Seminary got me thinking... and working...

This evening's work...

Any potential to things like this, such as posters as with the vector art?

Edit: I should have mentioned this is the Botanic Gardens Station, for anyone who doesn't know.

The preliminary sketches look very interesting 8) . How about a higher res pic. :?:

Good stuff Rosco! What software are you using? For the St. Peters job the building was modelled and rendered in 3D Max. I've only got the main block modelled so far but I'm hopefully going to get some time to do the rest of the Coia buildings and especially Kilmahew house, which of course is no longer with us.

These are very early sketches, really playing about with lighting, trying to get that accurate. I'll be updating these during the week as I add to the models. Using Cinema 4D for these. Once I've got something that's ready for higher resolutions, I'll do maybe do some desktops.

Anyone know what kind of artificial lighting they had down there? No sign of anything...

Not had much chance to work on this, this week. Until tonight when I completely remodelled everything. Much more accurate now. Just got the stairs at the halfway point, internal lighting, track sleepers and the bricked-up bit at the far end to add, then I'll be making textures and getting everything looking a bit better with some splashes of colour...

If you're wondering why the images are grainy its all to do with radiosity and caustics 8) and only having one light source.

Any chance I could have a 1152x864 copy of the first one, when you're done? ;>

First one from the second post. That would look mighty fine as a background on my computer, even more so than my current wallpaper.

do you also despair at the lack of 1152x864 wallpapers? i know the pain... :(

Yes, it sucks having to scale up 1024x768 images. I just generally use photos that I take, they're always bigger than 1152x864.

Personally I prefer 1280x854, which is even rarer..

Slowly but surely.... If only 'cause this took 2 hours to render 8O

Looks like they had electric lighting back in the 30's  , but I've still to design and model the lampshades...
