There's more to be scanned. A few of statues, one of the Glasgow Herald pavilion, one of a giant Ferris Wheel, and a few more Pavilions.

I'll get on to it as soon as I get a chance.

Wonderful!
Thank you for scanning them - I'm also looking forward to seeing the rest.

The ex-Palace of Engineering at Prestwick airport is still impressively recognisable after all these years...

Thanks, Doc. Great to see these old photographs.
I'm told the Palace of Arts is being turned into something soon.

I believe it's now a "palace of sport" and houses some Scottish boxing association :D

These are nearly the pick of the crop, but I'll get to work on the rest. Some of them aren't in great nick, and need a bit of tidying. You can see a few blemishes on the ones I've posted so far, and I've no idea how to sort them. Can anyone help with that?

Looks like my dad managed ot visit on one of the few dry days!

Found some film footage of empire exhibition.
Go to http://www.BRITISHPATHE.COM (note capitals),and search the database for Glasgow. They will come back with 591 films,of which there must be some hidden gems but more of that later. The exhibition films are no. 82 and 103. you will have to give them some details (e-mail and addressetc.) but it is well worth the hassle. im off to search through the remaining 589 films, sad git that i am :!:

Aye, it's a good site. You get very low quality films free, which have "PREVIEW COPY" or sometinhg like that in big yellow letters on the screen. I found it hard to make out what I was watching. But worth a look anyway. If you want better quality you need to pay.

Bellahouston Park. iirc there's one building left on the south side of the park.

Edit: This one: http://www.scotland-guide.co.uk/ALL_AREAS_IN_SCOTLAND/Glasgow/Areas/South/Bellahouston_Park/Bellahouston_Park_-_Palace_of_Art.htm

My old man used to work for a pump manufacturers from Yoker by the name of Drysdales, very famous they were too, but no trace exists if them as far as I can see. Anyway, they had the distinction of supplying pumps for the fountain, and he told me when they were switched on there was a minor panic when no water appeared. The electricians were sent for and it transpired that nobody had done a rotation check on the motors, which were found to be going round the wrong way, an easy thing to remedy by swapping wires around, and hey presto, a big scoosh. ::):
