tombro wrote:Synchro,

Just had a quick squizz and I'm sure that school has been built on what was a vacant area in my time in 'theDrum'.

At the Camus Place end was the annexe of St Sixtus School I attended in the year before I left for Australia and at the Linkwood Drive ende (directly opposite Ardhu Place) was Airgold Place. The tenement I lived in, 17 Airgold Drive, was the first on the right as you went along Airgold Drive towards Linkwood Drive.

The Ledmore Drive Annexe that I started school at in 1956 was on the right hand side going towards Linkwood Drive, roughly where Harrow Place is.

Thanks, Synchro, for filling in just another wee bit in my search for my Drumchapel roots !

Cheers mate, Tombro :)

The building there is Harrow Court a sheltered housing block.

Gbm,

Thanks for adding another little piece to my memories of the past !

I don't know what it looks like now but, in 1956, there was a wee school of metal buildings, obviously built to cope with unmeasurable the influx of new kids to the scheme. The annexe opposite Camus Place was similar.

Thanks again mate,

Tombro :D
