I was asked if I was one of the wee boys (122) in this picture circa 1990-1993 ish.

I thought at first it was Castlemilk Drive with the junction to Glenacre Drive in the back right, the angle led me to think it was down hill but the granny flats and chimney ruled that one out. It also ruled out the top of Ardencraig Road looking on to the brae. Most of the houses have verandas

Few clues helped pin it down, the well tended bushes and the garden size and height from the road. Lack of runners pointing towards the later stages of the run as indeed some are sprinting.

I wrongly remembered the route of the run finishing by turning off Dougrie Road on to dougrie drive and then along the lane between the bowling green and health centre. infact you went past the police station and down the lane on to Dougrie terrace where this photo was taken from near the old unemployment centre (lunch pie and beans for 25p I seem to remember).

Lots of change, gone are the well tended gardens, the chimney was the old Castleton Primary now demolished and rebuilt on the football pitch. The post box reamins though and the tree has really grown over the years.
