Well done. I'm sure that's it but the pic looks as though it's from a time a bit earlier than I remember it.

Here's one from roughly the time I'm talking about...

Wow, I don't ever remember it looking like that!
I'm under 18 though (according to Marks and Spencers staff)

(Is it just me who gets a bit disturbed when the 'past' photos are from times I recognise?)

me too, i remember being dragged up that road to get to Buchanan Bus Station for the bus home. Was there not a wee fruit shop or butchers just past where the underground bit is? I remember the pub too, never went in obv but I always remember it all looking pretty grim.

There was a Malcolm Campbell shop in Dundas St where Avalanche Records is now. Is that the one you're thinking of?

Fascinatingly, the hairdresser's shop in the picture is still a barber's today.

The decline of Western civilisation part VII: silversmith and tobacconist replaced by 24 hour store and smoothie bar :!:

Not necessarily - I neither puff the baccy nor polish the spoons anymore yet can still be brought into polite society of an evening.

And right next door at number 66, it's the end!
I love the small sign in the windows; THIS IS THE FINISH.
