You are very kind, sir. My paucity of posting is due to the fact that I am dwarfed by those with a far superior knowledge of the city than my own. I therefore conserve my powder until the odd opportunity permits me to raise my head over the parapet, fire a few blanks and then duck back down again.

Anyway... Here's a few more shots; emulsion up or emulsion down: who can say?

Single deck tram. Can't remember if I've posted this before- if I have then apologies. At least it's the right way round. I think.

Image

Rotunda under attack from skdiver trailing pink smoke. I seem to rember one or two aeriel displays.

Image

The High Street. The skeletal representations of Glasgow landmarks housed genuine shops as I recall.

Image

Another tram. Note the legendary Garden Festival anorak visible inside the cab.

Image

One of the harbour events. I think this may have been a reenactment of the Battle of Largs.

Image

Coca Cola Rollercoaster. Can't remember why I took this pic from behind a tree.

Image

Balloon seller. I bought a dolphin shaped balloon and took it all the way back to Motherwell on the train without anybody bursting it. By putting just the right number of paperclips on its string I could get it to hover around the house at a constant height. One day no paperclips were necessary for this phenomenon and I knew the end was nigh.

The castle thing is a representation of the Wallace Monument from Stirling, it was stored after the event by my house by Tillhill forestry company the errected in Stirling in Kings Park as a play park

Was 6 at the time of the festival and must try to find pics from the festival. Got no memories only pictures :(

BTW reading this topic there was discussion way back on page 12ish bout a standing stone up north in a glass box, and the possibility of that being at the festival. Well no chance the Stone is Suerno's stone and as the stone is believed to be in it's original location, the box was erected in the 80's to protect the stone.

Fascinating adverts there, Sam. I especially liked the Edinburgh one: 'Congratulations Glasgow, well done you. Best regards, the capital city.' Meeow.

Strange to see the SSEB there too, large as life and not yet sold off.

Amazing how some adverts try to connect in with the Garden Festival theme whilst others are more tenuous. The Post Office advert (Not Shown) has no connection and fails to mention the post office in the 'Glasgow Street' bit of the festival.
