I'm hoping I can catch the demise of these blocks. Had a few school mates who lived in the blocks (I went to Riverside Secondary) - what a difference in that part of Dalmarnock from the early 80s...

I have a vivid memory of that school.
Big red building.
It was sinking into the Clyde? thats why they pulled it down.

Indeed that was the building and it did appear to be sinking, the steps to the playing fields were severely compacted and not long before I left in 1983 the ceilings in some classes collapsed. Missed the bloody teachers though :)

What's happening with these? Things seem to have gone quiet.

I passed them on Sunday and it didn't look like any progress had been made on them.

Was down there yesterday. The south facing side of the front tower still has half it's windows in, so it'll probably be a wee while yet before they come down.

Like Invy I went to that school, I think it got demolished because of falling pupil numbers. It was only built in the 1930's, so it was a newer building than many others in the city. The Dalmarnock flats also reflect a decline in the population of the Dalmarnock/Parkhead area, coupled with council policy to do away with high rise.

Passed earlier on my way from my parents and there are loads of hi viz cops and patrol cars around the perimeter fence, still doesn't look like they're ready to come down but pretty odd to see that much activity. And of course I didn't have my camera :x
