I live across the road from them and it's the 24/26th or around then that they're coming down.

I was told it was to be this weekend at noon, then i was told it would be changed to 6pm because of the old firm match.

I drove by earlier this week i would would have to say that there is still a good 2 weeks worth of work to get them ready. The front block still has windows on the right side to come out.

I really hope that this was due to the noise caused, rather then because people wouldnt be able to go and watch another part of Glasgow turn to dust...

I used to work in Calder Millerfield's pie factory, which was on the other side of Millerfield Rd from these flats. The pies were as dodgy as the neighbourhood. I remember the wee shop at the corner of Millerfield St and Springfield Rd was robbed a couple of times in the 3 weeks* I worked there.

*The sight and smell of mince at 5.30 am was too much for my delicate constitution.

hehe i used to cut down from the railway overlooking calder millerfield on my way to school.
Every day there was some kind of fire in the general area. Fly tipping was a real problem from what i remember.

That's right. There was a lot of spare ground around the factory where people dumped their rubbish and kids would set it on fire.

I vaguely remember a kid being burned to death in a skip fire down that way, a few years after I worked there.

Now the whole area is spare ground. When I drove through Dalmarnock at Christmas, it reminded me of pics of Hiroshima after it had been nuked.
