Panopticon and other Glasgow Theatres

Postby dimairt » Wed Dec 06, 2006 9:35 am

I've been working with a local history group in Dundasvale recently and was given a pile of theatre posters, song sheets and memorabilia by a woman whose aunt, Myra Eyton, had been a "dainty comedienne and dancer."
After showing them to Special Colections staff at the Mitchell and various other experts, they have been donated to the Scottish Theatre Archive at Glasgow University where they will be preserved and available to students and the public with a few items going on to their website.
A few Panopticon posters and photographs of her aunt in stage gear were given to the Britannia Trust who will have them on display shortly.
I've got more to add but here's a few to start us off.

Eddy

Thanks for sharing that. I have a bit of a soft spot for the Panopticon.
