Sure is a very Dramatic shot john.
Reminds me of a 70s movie "THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3" for some reason.

I see what you mean. They look as if they are waiting for some monster to come around the corner before unleashing the old ray of death.

Where HG leads, the BBC follows:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7016371.stmHow does it feel to be working while most people are sleeping? In the first of a series following those who drive Britain's 24-hour society through the small hours, we join night-shift workers on the Glasgow subway...

Hi applemaca,
This is the sump at the lowest part of the tunnel that runs between Govan and Partick under the River Clyde which connects over to inner circle line. As you can see it's reassuringly dry

This is the Glasgow subway somewhere between Govan and Partick stations. I think this bit is a tunnel between the two circles to allow workers to take a short cut.
No doubt I am completely wrong and someone will leap in with every details including the name of the guys who dug the tunnel originally and what they had on their sandwiches at the time.
Cheers
John
