i grew up in Aboukir Street, directly opposite the farm, in the seventies and went to St. Jeromes which meant a walk through the park via the gate at the farm. The farm was very much in use well into the eighties. Brilliant pics of the streets during the 60's in a previous post, can even see our old living room window!!!!

Wonder how long this will still be there. It's been set alight- the main building is still intact, but the steel shutters have been prised off. Probably not too long before the whole lot goes up. Shame :(

Sure its not just an internal gut out Guacho ?, there is no demolition due for the Fairfield Farmhouse the last time i heard.

09/00249/DC | Internal and external alterations to listed farmhouse building and associated landscaping. | Elder Park Govan Road Glasgow G51 4AA

Its B listed, i cant see them demolishing it , must be the roof and internals they are demolishing, i'll check in the morning.

G3 Growers had a tour of the vegetable garden between the farmhouse and Govan Rd a couple of years back when we were planning The Back Garden. They've done some great work.

Was there yesterday morning , drove by very slowly, seems the main Farmhouse building is still intact, the smaller side building seems to have been demolished, probably because of the fire damage done to it previously.

HI the community using the site have changed the name to Elder Farm - because apparently the community do not connect Fairfield with that site but with the area Fairfield or else she ship yard
There is a site on jimdo which has some information http://elderfarm.jimdo.com
The Gallery tab has photos mostly of the garden - they grow free food for the community
There is also a group site on facebook - Elder Farm Heritage Trust again with photos and some documents - mostly minutes and a draft of the constitution has recently been added
They are looking for members to join the committee
