The old Dental Hospital in Renfrew Street is one of my favourite buildings actually. I've always liked it. And as you say, I think the door is hardly ever used - I've never seen it open anyway.

They are both part of the refurbished West Quad building at Glasgow Uni. The last one is, I think, quite an old door. Maybe not from the 20s/30s when the WQ was completed, but it has that look about it...a bit CRM like maybe? Certainly been around a while judging by the number of pin marks on it!

I used to work here. This door was the original entrance before they built the Sauchiehall Street new building. In 10 years, only saw this door open once when Michael Forsyth, then Scottish Secretary, visited. There are some nice internal doors and great panelling in the board room which was to the left of this door. But, knowing the NHS, they've probably ripped it all out and replaced it with some lovely plywood.

There was also a tiny two man lift which had the old internal gate which took you up from Renfrew Street to the labs upstairs.

The panelling is still there, lined with photographs of (presumably) dental-related worthies through the ages.

Certainly not as fancy as the rest of the doors in this thread...

This door to no-where was once the entrance to a drying shed for the joiners shop that is still standing.

I have noticed a few door's to no-where around Glasgow although this is the first one I've found out where it used to go.

Ps It's in Cambuslang near the train station now part of the the Alloy Wheel Centre.
