Interesting Ally :)
Amazing how these wee buildings survive when all around them is ploughed into the ground.

I used to work for a company on Cambuslang Road and a couple of their buildings were also of the same polychrome design but they were in a state of collapse and were recently demolished due to a compulsory purchase order which was sited in 1985 for the construction of the M74 motorway, but if it was'nt for the proposed route the remaining buildings would probably have been removed anyway as only 2 out of the 4 were unused due to roof collapse and the others not far off.

Excellent photos and they really should get rid of the shed in the middle.

With these great shots it's uplifting to think that in amongst all these gritty industrial environments, entreprenuers, builders etc. put in a little, but significant, thought, money, time and effort to provide for the detailing and craftwork that up to a hundred years later we can enjoy :)

Couldn't agree more Dexter St.Clair about that shed in the middle, there once was a more ornamental structure in it's place, according to photos I've seen from the 1960s.

There are lots of examples of this kind of building around Tobago Street. Here is one with a nice pink paintjob.
