Elgee

If you have a digital camera it is easy to post and most here would be happy to talk you through the process.

Or

If you have a standard camera I would be happy to get the photo scanned for you. It is even possible to use a camera phone photo. There are some fair quality camera phone photos posted on here.

If you need any help let me know.

GK

I posted the information on the previous page.

If you have any problems gaining access let me know and I will see what can be done. There shouldn't be any difficulty.

By the sound of it this place is used as a community centre for local folk so don't think it should be required. However they may not want you to take too many photos.

Eastwood New Cemmy.

There was another ordinary grave that had the Glasgow Squadron crest on it alas I forgot (several times) that after I press the button on a digi camera i need to wait a wee second.

You can just see the bottom of the crest. I'll get back to it!

There has been a lot of interest on this thread so there must be a few Glaswegians out there interested in war memorials. You may like to know that a Hidden Glasgow forum member has started up his own forum on Scottish War Memorials. He’ll be too modest to post the link himself so here it is:

To bump this thread, this isn't really hidden, but I don't think it's been shown before. Drumchapel war memorial at the Drumchapel village church.
(During the war a bomb landed just behind where i'm standing, and blew out this gable wall 8O )

And the Knightswood Garage memorial, (now in Scotstoun Depot I think). This grainy photo is from an old newspaper.

Luss War Memorial

Postby TC1 » Fri Mar 30, 2007 2:48 pm

This was taken two days ago in Luss. Good to see a memorial which is respected and well looked after, not just around 11th November.

I thought this website http://www.ukniwm.org.uk/ would be interesting to some of you. It turns up a good number of results for Glasgow, in fact I was surprised that it listed so many. It's nice to know that someone has taken the time to keep track of all these memorials. Is the list for Glasgow complete or do they need to update their records?

Don't know why the pic of Luss Memorial disappeared, so here it is again.
