It is just inside the gates of the park off Govan Road directly opposite the old office buildng of Govan Shipbuilders (BAE). I believe the reason that it is there is that workers from the shipyard were aboard the vessel for sea trials.
I remeber reading about it many years ago, i think about half the crew were rescued after spending a couple of days trapped at the bottom of teh Gareloch.
