Yup. Right opposite the court. Turns out there are quite a few of these in the kerbs markig as is suggested, the boundary of Glasgow Green.

what does it say on it, i'm having trouble reading it. the bit on the right looks like a keyhole.

It says Twaddle and Ried Glasgow with the number 83.
Didn’t see a hinge..........

it's on the Ladywell pub on Duke st. The main doors on the right this is on the wall just a foot from the ground.

These ornate posts were originally located in the burghs which subsequently aggregated to form the district of Kirkcaldy.

Seven Burgh Councils ceased to exist as from May 1975 due to the reorganisation of Scottish Local government. Buckhaven & Methil, Burntisland, Kinghorn, Kirkcaldy, Leslie, Leven, and Markinch burgh councils were merged to form Kirkcaldy District. Each burgh, except Leslie, had a special lamp and a post that was placed outside the homes of the burgh Provosts. The lamps are now on permanent display on the south side of the Town House.
