Can anyone advise me on how to add photos to the forums?
Those are tremendous images....
I often wonder what happened to the debris from the countless tenements that were demolished over that 20 years period from 60 to 86? All the ironwork from the bannisters...all the statues from pediments...the ballustrades, and all that wonderful sandstone.
Strange how modern "copies" of the tenement look so cheap and tacky...you really need the stonework...brick just doesn't work. But who is going to quarry stone for building these days? No chance...
Well done the Victorians'.....for building stuff that was meant to last (including our sadly neglected subway).

Well done Fossil. Those are wonderful images, and great for the likes of me, who now live in another part of the world.
THe images of the motorways, really show how the car was responsible for the destruction of large parts of the city. I really don't like cars, and the way they separate people from the reality of the communities they inhabit.

Castlebank Crescent on South Street has completely gone as the The Harbour development expands.
Road to nowhere
Looking West at Castlebank St. towards South Street. The Crescent was on the left where the red car is in the distance.
