Defibduncan (great name) has some good pictures of the Rotundas and the Tunnel on his flicker account which is well worth a visit as he has some other great Glasgow stuff from the 60/70s.

is it possible they were used by the harbour master to look for ships coming up the clyde using binoculars thats the only logical thing i can think of
