The tenant is waiting for a reasonable offer of compensation to give up his lease and Unite just want to sell the building.

Goodbye Morrison`s, this time they are not even going to wait for the fire.

There was never going to be a fire and that's a slur on both Unite and their tenant. The burst in the upper floors happened during a freeze. It has not hastened the sale of the building. It has unfortunately closed a decent boozer and scene of a good HG night out.

The Berlin in West George St under QS Station became Sadie something by the mid-90s, a gay/lesbian bar.

There was no intentional slur on Unite or their tenant. I was referring to the spate of fires that happen to derelict or unoccupied buildings. Either way the building has been sold and will soon be demolished. I agree it was a decent boozer with a friendly welcome and decent pint and it will be missed.

A collection of old Glasgow bars including the ones demolished personally by Sir Basil Spence.

I notice the Ingram bar has gone and will be replaced by a mexican restaurant. I think it's about time we visited some bars before they disappear and The lampost should be near the top of the list.

We could use Cumbo's Flickr group as a menu.

Dow's on Dundas St is up for let so perhaps that should be first on the list before it's gone.

I don't know how long the Imperial has left. It is a splendid pub interior, comparable to much better known pubs. Think they still have a mosaic floor, but I might have imagined that.

The Old Ship Bank and the Empire Bar on Saltmarket. The one across the road from the Empire Bar has already closed, can't remember what it was called.

Macintosh's Bar on Cambridge St is another I've never been in.

Is the Steps Bar listed? It bloody ought to be.

Someone previously mentioned the Cathadamara in Dunlop St. I can confirm it had a nautical setting. Think the outside was draped in fishing nets.My friends played there once or twice, band called Jaspa. I dont remember too much else about the place.

Think the Devil's Advocate on Clydeside was originally 'Waves'

I used to be a regular at the Charing Cross Hotel, and remember a Band called Frekles. Thought they were great...!
Somehow I ended up on the opening night in Shuffles, Sauchiehall St, the old Electric Garden. Im sure it was the Bay City Rollers that opened it!
Also remember the Rialto, The Regency, a small dance hall in Sauchiehall St called 'Revolution'. Anyone remember it?
Never ever got in to Tiffany's. If I remember you needed a tie on..laces never worked.

Hayburn gone and soon to be re opened as a Wee Doch an' Doris which I think refers to a couple of old charge hands. It's the Lismor effect.
