I'm glad there's another road crossing, but it just seems so narrow.

Apparently there will be 4 lanes on the road, 2 of which will be for buses/taxis/cycles
only. We'll see.

I actually don't mind it. I mean it's not an astounding feat of imaginative and innovative design, and it has been said that it's like a MacDonalds arch, but generally i tnit looks ok.

Still think it's shortsighhted and weird to build such a low bridge on the Clyde. I mean ... can ferry even fit under it? Or is it locked in now?

What's the reasoning behind building such a low bridge?

Its hammering in the fact that we will never be an industrial city again, and we'd better get used to it 8O

Well spotted.. they were taken from the top floor of the new STV building, I have been watching the bridge take shape over the past few weeks. I'm part of the team doing the technical installation before the move in the summer.

I think the bridge will be an interesting addition to the Clyde, it's certainly not in the same class as the bridges further up-stream but there is no doubt it has been a catalyst for that whole area that has lain derelict for far too long.

It’s sad it has blocked about the last couple of miles of the Clyde for some future ferry or other use but that’s life sometimes....
