Carnegie Libraries? As of the end of 1908, there were 105 in Scotland, 329 in England, 959 in the US, etc. Down to 1 each in The Seychelles and Fiji.

No figures on the angels, though.

They're actually a bit disappointing. I imagined 2 or 3 levels with a spiral staircase running from the top to the bottom but it turns out they're just for show. A wee dark octagonal chamber the size of a portaloo and that's yer lot! Nice views though...
