After trawling through this thread and seeing the name of Dick Barton
being thrown a few times, I'm pretty sure that he had his own range
of hair products, (shampoos, conditioners etc.), available under the
guise of Daas Harr, or something of that ilk. 8O

Maybe nobody noticed, but a couple of my photos of Schipka Pass on page 3 of this thread had dissapeared,
but I have replaced them now and all is back to normal (with a little help from Admin guy John).

Brian.-

Thanks Norrie but I didn't "find" them, I had to go back and take the photos again. So the ones that you have would not have filled the gap. I think they are important to have on record as after the recent fire etc. Schipka Pass (St, Andrews Lane) has now been closed off to the public, so the original photos that I posted, may not be able to be taken again. So the old cast iron bridge can no longer be viewed by the public at large !

Brian.

AN investigation has begun after fire swept through a row of shops in Glasgow causing extensive devastation and forcing road closures.
More than 60 firefighters dealt with the blaze at the back of a row of two-storey shops in Glasgow’s Gallowgate at 10.30pm on Thursday.
A fire service spokeswoman said the blaze in the basement and ground floor caused the partial collapse of the front of a building.

The End of Schipka Pass ?

All 10 shops in the block were due to be demolished this morning.

Myself and my neighbour have told the police and the council about fires being set behind that building and been lobbying to get that fence taken down for a good couple of years. Since they put that effing ugly fence up, the land behind has become junkie heaven. Ironically, they have now secured the area  I am titting well cross too Shuggy.
