If it is the Dick Barton who had rented flats throughout the city he once done me out of a £100 deposit on a bedsit i was staying in. Lovely place rooms sub divided with gyproc walls and bars on the basement windows !.

I passed this place for the first time in August last year and have wondered about it on and off ever since.
Is the "antiques" business still going?
Terribly saddened to read that Mr. Barton's passed away, but at least his legacy of signs remains!
This photo is taken from August 2005, just to add to the collection:

Shame to see the place in such a state. There used to be a shoe shop there, one of the busiest in the city.
