Craigend Castle

i happened upon the section on Craigend Castle at Mugdock and remembered i had some pictures from a couple of trips last year

Apparently it was used as a Zoo in the 1950's but that quickly shut down. Not sure when it became as ruined as this.

There also exists a Craigends castle in Renfrewshire. A watercolour painting exists showing it in better days. Its with the National Monuments Record of Scotland and was on display in a Jubilee Exhibition (may-July yr? but in the last 10 yrs.) at the National Gallery of Scotland.Its so unfortunate that so many fine buildings with so many interesting architectural features end up in ruin.
